I started my journey in photography at the remarkably young age of ten, capturing my very first black and white photos with my dad’s trusty Olympus Trip 35. After many years filled with countless failures, numerous successes, and invaluable lessons learned through hands-on experience, I eventually transitioned my passion from a simple hobby into a thriving professional business. When I decided to go pro, underwater photography became my primary genre of focus. As a qualified diving instructor, I not only practiced this art but also taught underwater photography as a diving specialty. Additionally, I served as the in-house photographer for a respected diving publication called Divestyle Magazine. Unfortunately, following a very serious motorbike accident, diving activities became quite difficult for me, which compelled me to explore alternative photography business options. It was during this challenging period that I began to take a serious interest in aviation photography. Shortly after diving into this new genre, I was fortunate to land a position as the in-house photographer for an international aviation publication, World Airnews Magazine. I later chose to leave both publications to pursue a career as a freelance photographer. Since then, I have continued to work as a professional photographer in the aviation, industrial, commercial, and travel sectors for several years. My background extends beyond photography and diving; I am also a qualified Avionic Radar Technician. I spent a significant number of years working for the South African Airforce, Reutech Systems, and SAAB Avitronics, where I focused on developing and producing Electronic Warfare Systems for various military aircraft and naval vessels.
